In memory of the fabulous MLM

I wish I could pay my final respects to MLM in person, but not being able to beam myself anywhere I need another way to do it.

My idea for anybody who has the same problem is a read together.
On November 7th at 11 pm GMT+1 (Berlin, Germany) we could all read this story she has written, Wire
And meet afterwards here at lj in this community to honor her.

To see what time this is for you check out this site.
The story is around 600 words, so everyone could join in, because five minutes can be snatched anywhere.

I never met MLM in person, but I am awed by her strength and her way of looking at life.
And I am thankful to her for sharing all that and the wonderful insights on the Lads´ lives, too.

This is a very nice idea. You can count me in.

I never met her either, but we had some very inspiring discussions. Sometimes we happily agreed that we disagree, but that only could deepen our connection.
I love her stories as well as I loved her wit and in the end her strength to always find happy moments when her world collapsed around her...
I'm so sad!

A grand idea! It will be 4 am my time, so I may not be there. I will try though. I did not know MLM, but I know she was well loved by many of you. My condolences to all.

You're on the US east coast, right? Because you should be behind Berlin time. I think it'll be 5:00 pm for you on Saturday. (I'm central time and thus behind Berlin 7 hours.)

I'll try to make it. I knew her quite well personally and I am devastated. Obviously not to the same extent as her sister, husband and father, but enough. Does anyone know how to get LJ to make her journal a memorial one? We should probably ask Deb, but she's fairly new to LJ and might welcome advice.

I believe Londonronnie http://londonronnie.livejournal.com/ organised memorial status for probodie.

So I think she would know how. I've been thinking myself that we should ensure MLM's site is preserved.

Just about all her stories went up in the Reading Room Dear Author segment (http://ci5hq.livejournal.com/282117.html ) a short while ago. (And I see you've left this message at CI5HQ too.)

So far, I haven't been able to comment on anything but 'With Added Dinosaur', but I'm going to keep going.

Moonlightmead seemed (as ever) so enthusiastic about the idea. It might take me a while. But I would like to read and comment on all her stories. As I originally planned to do.

So YES I think that's a lovely way for us all to take time out to remember her and something that was so important to her.

Count me in :0)

Oh, what a lovely idea. So we all have a date at next Saturday. I'll be there.

Last year, after my holiday at Cyprus, I asked her if she knew why so many english couples had their wedding there. And we had a nice chat about the reasons.

I think she was a very special person.

The time should be the same for me as I'm in France. I guess it's the time for her burial? Anyway, paying homage to her is a very nice idea. I'll leave a note to myself on my computer desk so I won't miss the meeting. I can't remember exactly when and why, but I know I've been briefly in contact with her and I always enjoyed her stories.
My heart goes out to her family and close friends in this very painful moment.

Yes, I'm in too. And this is a very good idea! I was able to meet her in person luckily back in Sep. 2013. That was a fantastic experience as I live here Japan far from UK and we could manage to meet up during my trip in London then... If only I was able to meet her again in this May...

This is a great idea. I may not be able to be there for the initial comments, but I'll check in when I can.

What a lovely tribute this will be - yes, I will join in and read the fic and will comment if possible.
I never had the opportunity to meet Mead but we had many internet chats. She will be sorely missed by so many.
ETA: 11pm on the 7th is 8am on the 8th for me - Sunday morning - it's doable!

I'll be away from home on Saturday night but I've printed off Mead's story and I'll take it away with me to read as near the appointed time as I can.

I can't promise to take part in the discussion afterwards as I'll only have my phone for getting online and it's a pain trying use it to post anything. I'll certainly be with you all in spirit though.

It's a wonderful idea, by the way. I hope all our loving vibes from around the world reach Mead, wherever she is.
