In memory of the fabulous MLM
In memory of the fabulous MLM
I wish I could pay my final respects to MLM in person, but not being able to beam myself anywhere I need another way to do it.
My idea for anybody who has the same problem is a read together.
On November 7th at 11 pm GMT+1 (Berlin, Germany) we could all read this story she has written, Wire
And meet afterwards here at lj in this community to honor her.
To see what time this is for you check out this site.
The story is around 600 words, so everyone could join in, because five minutes can be snatched anywhere.
I never met MLM in person, but I am awed by her strength and her way of looking at life.
And I am thankful to her for sharing all that and the wonderful insights on the Lads“ lives, too.

I never met her either, but we had some very inspiring discussions. Sometimes we happily agreed that we disagree, but that only could deepen our connection.
I love her stories as well as I loved her wit and in the end her strength to always find happy moments when her world collapsed around her...
I'm so sad!

Just about all her stories went up in the Reading Room Dear Author segment (http://ci5hq.livejournal.com/282117.html ) a short while ago. (And I see you've left this message at CI5HQ too.)
So far, I haven't been able to comment on anything but 'With Added Dinosaur', but I'm going to keep going.
Moonlightmead seemed (as ever) so enthusiastic about the idea. It might take me a while. But I would like to read and comment on all her stories. As I originally planned to do.
So YES I think that's a lovely way for us all to take time out to remember her and something that was so important to her.
Count me in :0)

Last year, after my holiday at Cyprus, I asked her if she knew why so many english couples had their wedding there. And we had a nice chat about the reasons.
I think she was a very special person.

It's a lovely idea, thank you. I suck royally at synchronizing my brain, but if I can be here I will be. ♥

This is a great idea. I may not be able to be there for the initial comments, but I'll check in when I can.

I never had the opportunity to meet Mead but we had many internet chats. She will be sorely missed by so many.
ETA: 11pm on the 7th is 8am on the 8th for me - Sunday morning - it's doable!

I can't promise to take part in the discussion afterwards as I'll only have my phone for getting online and it's a pain trying use it to post anything. I'll certainly be with you all in spirit though.
It's a wonderful idea, by the way. I hope all our loving vibes from around the world reach Mead, wherever she is.
